This is a compilation culled from keynotes and talks in the past 3 years. I coined the neologism “androrithms”—a blend of “Andro” (meaning human) and “Algorithms”—in my 2016 book Technology vs. Humanity. I created this concept to represent uniquely human qualities, character traits and skills that stand in direct contrast to artificial intelligence, automation, and computer algorithms. - Empathy, compassion, social, emotional and kinaesthetic intelligence.
- Creativity, imagination, and intuition, which allow us to make lateral leaps and generate genuinely new knowledge rather than just recognizing existing patterns.
- Ethics, responsibility, and nuanced moral reasoning and of course the qualities that might soon become rare relics in a tech-driven world, such as mystery, wonder, serendipity, and our ability to develop foresight and hunches.
